ive never rooted or unlocked it before and ive googled but i cant find any tuturial that isnt confusing for me. i have unlocked my htc evo 4g before but since then ive done nothing

To be honest, if you find multiple tutorials confusing you shouldn't unlock the device, you risk bricking it.
But if you're really determined, look at XDA.
Theres no risk of bricking the tf300t using Asus's unlocking app. btw you can download it from the asus tf300t support site. It just reboots you into a unlocking screen, accept the conditions, and your unlocked.
The TF300t does have a high brick rate, 99% of this is people flashing roms with incompatible recoveries etc. Please just make sure you read, and understand what your doing before flashing stuff.
