I am very tired

The one day I decide to go on another damn rollercoaster better be the day I am supposed to die.

I went to Cedar Point with some friends, and aside from wanting to strangle everyone after 3 days, it was fun. It was hot, I got 50 headaches, then for some reason I rode the raptor which, if you didn't know, is a 35.86 second Thrill coaster that whips you around so hard that by the time you get off of it you never want to eat again and you feel like you got out of a 20 year abusive relationship.

I vlogged the whole day though. I have some excitement in the ability to make videos again so with @Logan's permission I'll use Zweihander and make some neat shit with all that.

The only problem was that it was way too hot. I have problems with sunstroke and there was a like 97 degree max during the day. At that the mechanics were having a hell of a time keeping anything running and the employees let the dragster explode. Literally. If you don't know what the dragster is...

It is an ultimate coaster (which means that the breaks are only at the end) that, during launch, shoots the trains up the line at up to 120 miles an hour. It does this in the style of a rail gun and has a giant water cooling system. At somp point yesterday the water boiled and melted the lines. And apparently when we left one of the tracks were loose (I heard it out of the side of my ear in a crowd but it was employees). A lot of the coasters other were stressed way too hard. The fact that any of them were working at nightfall is a feat in and of itself. The mean streak, the second to last wooden coaster at the park, kept losing its braking system (though it is getting closed soon)..... No not losing, the brakes kept closing before the cars got there. You could see the cars bounce back. The lifts on a couple coasters also went a little wonky and they had to reset them.

No one hurt, there was just a lot of heat and not enough air moving around.

Also, in the area I live there is the Free Faire 1 county over. They sold their bumper cars to cedar point because they were getting new ones built. No clue if they were using the ones from here, but the Free Faire notices popped into my head when I saw them. I think 2 of them were being used (could still see the old labels). So that was neat.

One thing I didn't know was that Cedar Point is actually a really big park. Big enough that its known outside of the US. I think theres a local exchange student program, maybe Uni of Ohio?, that has a workers program set up for students. There was kids from Africa, Asia, bloody Ireland! I met 4 Irish people and I bet at least one of them lived near where my family is from.

Other than the bugs, twas fun. I don't really have a reason to go back, and if you want to go then go ahead, just stay off the raptor and go when its appropriate to wear a light sweatshirt. Spring or Fall. Also bring Tylenol because it was 5 bucks for 4 tablets.

Sounds like an awesome day! I want to go to Cedar Point at some point at try the rides there.

As somewhat of a roller coaster enthusiast (or snob, or encyclopaedia, I've been called all), I feel the need to say that TTD is a hydraulic launch, not magnetic. Pumping fluid to drive a fly-wheel with a cable coiled about it attached to a car mounted into the track that the ride train ratchets onto. I think the more likely issue with it that day would be a build-up of vapour in the hydraulic lines.

Oh, thanks :P The lines still blew up everywhere. I could only see it from the underside so I went with a guess of what I have seen before.

Go to sleep.

If you ever go to Cedar Point, the Magnum is the best imo.

No offence, but despite not riding it I can say Magnum XL-200 (I presume that's the ride you're referring to), would be inherently dull. It's not particularly high or fast (~200 feet, ~70 MPH) and it was developed by Arrow Dynamics, a defunct manufacturer notorious for very rough rides and triangular hills that kill air-time. What about something like Maverick, Millennium Force, or Gatekeeper?

No offense taken, you can have whatever opinion you want.I haven't tried Gatekeeper, i haven't been there in awhile. The Millennium Force is over too quickly, and like the first drop is the only one that feels like a drop, the rest of the ride, it just you moving quickly and feeling the Gs and it does that worse than the Raptor. The Maverick was quite new the last couple times I went and the wait was always so long, i've only been on it one or two times and the only impression of it i remember is the restraints being uncomfortable. Magnum is a little rough, but i guess after riding wooden coasters a lot, it doesn't seem bad at all. I have also heard it ranked quite highly in the best roller coasters in the world. The Raptor is definitely a must ride coaster if you go to Cedar Point as well.

Ok. If I am to ever go the rides I would most look forward to would probably be Raptor, Maverick, and whatever Mantis is now called. I actually live in Florida where I get to await the first polercoaster which should have a height that Kingda Ka finally can suck on.

I wanted to ride it so badly but they were doing stuff with it while me mere there ;A;

I can't wait to visit Cedar Point. I'm a huge coaster fan and recently moved to Ohio. Cedar Point is known for some world class rides. My favorite roller coaster so far is the Boulder Dash Mountain Coaster in Lake Compounce CT. The track goes through the woods and they didn't cut any trees. When you are riding, it seems like the cars are going to smash into the trees or rocks only to turn at the last second.
