I am new to this hardware passthrough thing, and I have a few questions

My main questions is whether I can get looking glass to work without a dummy monitor. I know wendell says you can’t in his latest video, but that was a month ago and I’m wondering if things have changed.

Secondly, is it practical to set this up on Ubuntu 16.04, and if so, is there a guide I can follow?

If you have a physical monitor to attach it to, you can (even just a display with a second input that you don’t connect to will sometimes work), however, best results will come from a dummy monitor.
