I want to say I have a bug in my system, I have a bunch of important things to worry about but I find myself sitting here going. My media pc takes 6 seconds to boot into linux and open plex htpc. If I do a gui build that doesnt have all the other OS stuff in it can I shave off a second of that boot time? As well as my 5700u gets chopping playing back 4k hevc 10bit so I have to transcode it to h264, so should I upgrade them to ryzen 6600h or intel 1340p so it will play back better and have av1 support? I find myself spending tons of time and money for minor inconveniences.
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have an off button, so you’re basically stuck on it. There is no remedy either, it’s a defining characteristic of geek-hood. As you can’t fight it, you may as well try to cope as best as you can by embracing it.
Its been shown that peoole will even choose pain over boredom. You are distracting yourself, focus on the task at hand. Focus is hard especially during boredom. No way out but to power through the task.
This was your reminder. Now get back to work. You’ll have time to post during appropriate breaks.
