A couple of reasons im thinking about the Cloud II is that its 7.1, it may not be true 7.1 but that would be pretty damn awesome while im playing games and im thinking the mic should be pretty good because of the inline soundcard.
Now for the alternative. I know the HD 439 are pretty good from reviews and experiences with them. The Mod Mic is questionable since i do not have a soundcard and my motherboards audio sucks ass, realtek is not the best. The Snowball seems pretty good but my desk is pretty small with my computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse so i wouldnt want it sitting on my desk, also the keyboard and vibrations would be annoying so i was thinking about THIS
I really dont want to spend more than $120 and i didnt even want to spend that much. So im open to anything that you would recommend
I have the first version which i am really happy with for the price. Nice sound and a good mic. If the cloud 2 is better then the first I would recomend them.
I would either wait for the review or just go off the headphone reviews he did in the past. You might think your on board audio sucks but it would just be your crappy mics? I'v never really had bad audio on any decent motherboard in all honestly.
I would recommend watching the $150 headset video.
I have a friend in the recording industry and he says Audio Technica is good.
The Mic arm stand Logan uses is this one -- it was shown in the unlimited price headset video
edit: It's not worth it. Just get Cloud I since it's literally the same drivers and cup design. The only change was a color scheme and the usb dac which just takes 2.1 source makes it 7.1. Lame, and BF4's stereo mode already does this so the usb dac makes it redundant and muddies the sound as pointed out with the footsteps.
If you want better virtual surround get a dolby digital dac from Turtle Beach since it supports 24bit 48khz, get a separate amp if it's more than 32ohms.
