Hyper 212 successor? MasterAir Pro 3 and 4!

http://wccftech.com/cooler-master-introduces-masterair-pro-3-masterair-pro-4-cpu-coolers/
Sweet New Look!

Price!
"MasterAir Pro 3 and 4 coming in at $39.99 and $44.99"
IMHO there is a huge gap between the $27 dollar and the high end $90 cpu coolers.

Performance!

Rant
Can't run a test or two on the platform that really needs budget aftermarket cpu cooling?
(Hint: they run FX'ing hot)
Still it's nice to see WCCF doing actual testing and reviews while maintaining their core value of "every rumor is fit to print"

Conclusion
"To wrap things up I feel that Cooler Master has made enough changes and offered enough here to justify the new line. They’ve informed me that they will not be retiring the Hyper 212 EVO and offering this as its spiritual success. But rather that they coexist and offer something different. The Hyper 212 EVO will remain that price/performance champion, but the MasterAir Pro 3 and 4 will offer that more overall premium fit and finish. Both are available today at Newegg, Amazon, and Microcenter."
Kudos to Keith May, all quotes are his work, nice article.
(including the bad syntax "spiritual sucess")

I'd still lean slightly towards the Be Quiet Pure Rock, but on the other hand the CM Hyper 212 Evo is available just about everywhere. Maybe the MasterAir 4 will be as prolific, which I guess is up to what the street price lands at.

Says it will be avail at amazone newegg and MC.
I think it is basically a "sexed up" 212 EVO.
Black top means it won't look bad after a week with pet hair.
Allot of MB's are really attractive and for an extra 10 bucks it get's rid off that "baseboard heater" look.

I want to see how it fares against Cryorig H7 since that was the H212 killer before these coolers. The H7 is a very cheap but very sweet looking air cooler. Check it out if you haven't heard of it until now.

Am I missing something? The Pro 3 looks all over the place while costing more than the 212 Evo that's more consistant and on a better peformace level, looking at this test. The Pro 4 is barely better than the 212 Evo while having more heatpipes and a bigger fan. Maybe everything is screwed by the different fan RPMs so the 212 is like a jet while those achieve the same temps at whisper quiet RPMs, I don't know. The test doesen't mention that so I'm going to only assume.

It looks (especially since they have WCCF benchmarks now) like it's just a 212 with a blacked-out top plate and a Mini-Me version of it.

It doesn't look like they've really changed anything except the fan.

For my FX I went with the DeepCool Gamexx 400
Two reasons
1....EVERYBODY has a 212 evo
2....It was a dollar cheaper (sad I know but that's me:))

Had no clue it came with pretty blue lights.

Thanks I will:)

Yea basically.
But hey look on the bright side!
It's not:

a trump vs hillary thread
a tekxit thread
a $400 motherboard thread
a AMD vs Intel thread
a politics thread
a MsrAMDTweaker thread.......worst thread in ever:)

If I recall correctly, that is the current budget cooler than Tom's Hardware really has taken a liking to. Either way, I know they also did a test on the Masterair Pro 3 and 4, and took a close liking to the latter.

The Pro 3, in that test, kind of... failed, for whatever reason. I'm wondering if something happened to a heatpipe, but, who knows.

That's awesome:)

I think I'd probably still grab a Cryorig H7, though.

So will this cooler be less painful to install?

Next time I will review a cpu cooler before I buy it.
That way I will find out what I should really buy:):):)

Thanks guys....it really is an impressive cpu cooler.

Yeah, it reminds me of my penis. It's not too big, but it's thick, it performs well and I like looking at it and playing with it.
