Hyper 212 evo + Corsair Vengance

First post! Hope its in the right area.

I already have 4x4GB of Corsair Vengance DDR3 RAM and id like to get a Hyper 212 evo to keep the cpu temp down a bit more.

Problem. Will the Hyper 212 fit?

If it helps, the motherboard i will be upgrading to is the Asrock 990FX Extreme3, its standard ATX form.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.

As long as those RAM modules don't have ridiculously tall heat spreaders on them the it should fit. The heatsink itself shouldn't get in the way, it's pretty skinny (I have one). It's the fan that sticks out over the ram modules, and if it gets in the way the fan hooks on so that you can move it up slightly. Good heatsink, I recommend.

The heat sink will fit.

The second fan would not however. I have some HyperX Gen ran (regular spreader, no tall spikes or anything) and I cannot remove the RAM with the cooler on, they are hitting the second fan.

If the fan is easy to remove from the cooler then I would not worry too much about it. One rarely changes the RAM once your system is up and running and that particular cooler is very good for the price range. Unless something is actually hitting something else, I would not worry too much about it.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys!

Also, is it better to have the fan on the cooler in push or pull?

You're going to want after market fans (I'd recommend an SP 120 twin pack) i have the 212evo and the stock fan is a jet. Granted i havea 1.5ghz OC, but still it was insanely loud at 30% load. If you want a second stock fan you can have mine.

Yeah i have seen some really nice reviews about them and im thinking of getting them in combonation with 2 silverstone ap121 for intake fans. Any good fans purely for outtake?

I have been running the stock fan for a while, with a 1Ghz OC. Not loud at all.
Maybe you got a defective fan...

I have however swaped to two Antec 120mm, purely for looks (bought some with no LED and installed white ones). Temperatures are about the same but they make a lot more noise than the stock ones.

If you have enough fan controllers, put the intake fan 10% slower than the out. It will reduce noise a lot and optimise airflow. Other wise, just use the Y splitter included with the cooler.
