I went to download hwinfo64 and Memtest86 and found that the software is not Free. They seem to have become “freemium” or “freeware” with lots of ads for upgrading to paid versions.

I have been using utilities lile Cpu-z, Hwinfo64, and Memtest86 since I was in my teens, but I have not used them for quite a while.
Do you know if any Free versions of these tools?

It’s marked as freeware for non-commercial use and has no ads.

I’m sorry, I was asking about, “free and open-source” software. It appears that Hwinfo64 and Cpu-z have always been closed source. I might take a look at Cpu-X?

I think Memtest86 was originally open source, but the website linked does not seem to provide that source code.
I think you are missing the “86+” at the end…
In the alternative.to site, Memtest86+ is free and open source while Memtest isnt
CPU-X isn’t for Windows. Filter with OS as well for better results.
