HTPC Windows 11 w/ Biometrics (fingerprints)

As I continue to unpack (it’s been more than a year, but heh what do you know) I’ve encountered a bit of a snag with my current HTPC.

I’ve embraced fully the fact that I can’t beat the Android TV interface and isolated it the most I could. But I’m wondering if there is any wireless means to use Windows Hello for fingerprints. The idea is for anyone from the couch to unlock the PC to the same user from the household (heavily restricted) and use it without getting up from the couch. So far, I think it would require fingerprints to be configured.

I know I can always have a no-password user account, but I’d like to keep things a bit secure.

Already have a good air mouse with keyboard, and controllers in place, but I can’t find any Bluetooth or wireless fingerprint readers that are Windows Hello compatible - and really not looking to have a full blown windows keyboard just for unlocking the PC.

Has any of you encountered this situation before?

I doubt there will be any wireless Windows Hello fingerprint readers out there. Instead look at anything that allows USB devices to be connected over longer distances fitting your environment. From a cheap USB extension cable over an active one to USB over CAT should work without issues. Maybe some USB over IP devices work for this as well.

And of course when I asked about this I got some hints of a product that may be able to do this: Unity 20 Bluetooth – SecuGen

They also state that their products do allow for Windows Hello: How to Login to Windows – SecuGen (Even though they list another reader on the link, they link directly to this page from their Unity reader).

Question is… how do I get this one, and is it even worthwhile to get?
