HTML5 YouTube Playback

I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. When I play any YouTube videos using their HTML5 player they lag in any resolution higher than 360p.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

I'm using Chrome and, not that it matters at all, I've got Pepper Flash disabled.

I didn't go onto the Google forums for help because all they say is, "Make sure that you have requested the default player at youtube.com/html5." This doesn't help because it is set to only use flash, but some newer videos only use the HTML5 player.

What do you mean lagg? is the frame rate stuttering? audio clipping? buffering?

The frame rate drops down to around 5-10fps and the audio plays as normal. It still loads but it's almost like my processor can't handle the video. I don't get this problem with flash player.

I found a workaround. Went into chrome://plugins and disabled Widevine Content Decryption Module to force it to use Flash.

I've had similar issues

<right click the video> "stats for nerds"   what fps do you see?   I normally see 24 But what i am actually seeing feels much closer to 15 sometimes.

If you're using Chrome, try and use the fix that I posted here. It's been working without problems for 10 minutes and It's not causing issues on other sites.
