HPE CL2200 Gen 10 LFF CPU and software recommendations

I managed to pick up a barebones HPE CL2200 Gen 10 LFF with dual 1200w PSUs, heatsinks, and rails for $300 on eBay which I think is a pretty great deal to get into Xeon Scalable. I currently have 192gb (12x 16GB 2133 DDR4 ECC) RAM for the server from a cheap IBM “Desktop” style E5 V4 era server. I’m looking for recommendations for either one or two compatible CPUs for this server, I am looking to keep the prices fairly reasonable (around $300-500 to get a single CPU with the idea that I can get a second one down the road).

I am planning on using this to consolidate several servers that I currently run. I am hoping to have this server work as my NAS (8x 12TB WD Gold SATA HDDs) and my virtual machine/container host. My current NAS solution is a 4U build based on a Supermicro X9 series with am E5-2680v2 and 64gb of RAM, this server also hosts my Plex server and my seedbox as virtual machines. My other always on server is an IBM x3650 M4 with about 128GB of RAM and 2x E5-2660v2s (I think) that I run Proxmox on. I have between 2-6 full VMs running at any time and 4-10 fairly light containers running things like PiHole and TeamSpeak. I normally run several clock sensitive game servers so I’m looking to get one of the higher boost clock CPUs if possible. I’m open to whatever software solutions you guys recommend and I am willing to pay for a software solution like UnRaid, VMware community, or premium Proxmox.

Having a quick looking at https://cc.cnetcontent.com/vcs/hp-ent/inline-content/RD/B/F/BFF270EA62B2D7069A0E876A0EA4FC683FC779CF_source.PDF it seems that you’re very limited to the selections of CPUs by that RAM.

From my understanding those speeds are the maximum supported speeds, but I will reach out to HPE to see if they will answer a question without a support contract.

Edit: Just got off the phone with HPE support, they confirmed that the speed listed next to the processors in the matrix is the max supported speed.
