could be VERY cool, just haven’t seen one in prod
I have asked for a quote on an MZ73-LM0 Rev 3. I did check the manual and it seems fine to only populate one socket.
My main OS is Ubuntu 24.04 and that’s supported. Will it also run Win 10/11? I guess there’s a slight possibility that I would like to run Windows directly on the hardware.
I think I will be going for the MZ33-CP1. The MZ73-LM0 is nice but not all functionality is available if you only populate one CPU socket.
Plenty of lanes on the CP1 even though I won’t use the OCP slot.
RAM prices seem to be almost the same for 4800MT/s vs 6000MT/s so might go for that and then just plop the 9655 in there when QS parts become available.
i have the Gigabyte MZ33-AR0 and for the graphic card, i bought a riser cable Amazon.com: LINKUP - PCIE 5.0 Riser Cable | RTX5090 RX8900 GPU Ready | x16 128GB/s Speed | Compatible with PCIe 4.0 & WRX80/WRX90E | Left Angle, Black 30cm : Electronics. With the riser cable, i able to put the graphic card vertically. my case is a Fractal Design Define 7 XL
Tested and verified, you can populate only one socket sir if you choose.
runs fine on Ubuntu, Windows 11, MS Server 2022 data center and MS Server 2025 Data center
