Looks straightforward and good; but, I noticed the price of 7870 is a little high compared to what Sapphire is letting them go for (169.00-175.00). This has been a price I have seen for weeks now. In fact, if you save up just a LITTLE (well, like $80), you can get a Saphhire 7970! I think they are going for 309.
Now, I wouldn't normally advocate straying that much from your budget just to get a better card; but, this is a much better card and is an absolute deal.
Edit: At this point, I think if you are not planning on immediately overclocking, you can ditch the aftermarket cooler. Also, the disc drive is nice but if you drop that (along with the cpu cooler), you can get a killer video card that will be competitive for some time into the future.
I agree to that, although my budget is maxed out as I have already sold anything worth selling. My only other form of income is asking for money from my parents and I personally dont want to but thank you !
I edited my previous post and made a suggestion about the cooler and the media drive.
Glad any stupid suggestions I had could help.
EDIT 2: If you go to a University (or know someone who does), you can usually get the most recent Windows (7 or 8) for about $15. That is what I paid for every Windows 7 ultimate license I have, across four rigs.
I am quite interested in overclocking, do you have any suggestions on an OCing board that would fit my price point? Also, I currently have Windows 7 on my own computer would I be able to port it over or get another activation key of some sort because I actually dont know anyone going to College alll that well. Might sound dumb but ya lmfao
The thing is that you will probably not see any sort of performance increase in-game by overclocking a 6300 with a 7870. It would be smarter to put the money from the cooler towards a better gpu. That would get you better in-game performance. You could get a 760 by doing that without paying any more for the build. That is what I would suggest doing.
I suppose it's my fault for not mentioning, I do intend to do some rendering and video editing.... Although gaming is priority rendering and livestreaming is in mind. Plus watercooling is just damn cool! IMO
