i want to build a $450 gaming machine. I also want to know if apu is actually worth it.

The CPU in Mudrii's build is such a steal. I definetly recommend looking away from APU's for now and get that 7770 in there. Also, 8gb fast RAM wouldn't be as needed for gaming if you decide on a seperate video card.
