how would all the sdds go in the mobo?

looks like they used a server motherboard which im guessing had plenty of sas, or sata connections.

You could buy PCI-E to sata cards. I have a few of those and they work pretty good.

I was thinking about that, found one with 8 Ports on it LINK

Couldn't find one with a reasonable price with 10 Sata III ports.

They did 24 SSD's in RAID, which they most likely would have done with PCI-E RAID cards.
