How to use my SSD in my laptop

So I just picked up an MSI GT70 (laptop) and I want to take my SSD out of my desktop and use it for my OS/cache drive in my laptop since I won't be able to use my desktop for the next 6 months. The OS on my SSD is windows 7 and my laptop is running windows 8. My question is, what is the best way to go about using the SSD? I cant figure out how to get into the bios to select a drive to boot from, and I don't want to completely reinstall windows if I don't have to. If I do have to reinstall windows onto the SSD is there a way to install it but not make it my C drive? I don't want all my programs to install onto my SSD by default. Also whats the easiest way to do this, as I don't have a windows 8 disk?

Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated.

For starters my sides are flying through space that anyone buys gaming laptops still. Next off you'll need to reinstall windows to it or copy all your files from you main drive to the SSD using drive cloneing software. Here's how to get temp/users/program install off your SSD.

Well I spend a lot of time on the road, and I bought it with an I7/NVIDIA card mostly for projects like adobe/graphic/web design etc. Playing games isn't the main focus of it. I was going for like a macbook pro but for half the price.

How can I go about blocking off the part of my ssd that has my desktop OS and files saved on it and just use the remaining 80 gigs for my laptop os? IS there a way to do that so both of my OS can be saved on there? Or would it get messed up when it tries to boot from that drive?
