How to NVMe

Can I use a NVMe drive as a secondary storage drive in a old motherboard that cannot boot from NVMe.

... I guess thats it ...

You should be able to, as long as your OS can detect it and it can be physically connected.

Think of (PCIe) NVMe drives as a drive controller, rather than a drive itself. Some motherboards support booting from add-in raid controllers, some don't. They all (assuming the drivers are there, OS support) can see the device, regardless of boot support.

Awesome Thanks! That NVMe cache is pretty important for my 40Gb/s network.
