I heard about bitcoins the other day and I'm really curious
what is a bitcoin? o____o
I looked it up on wiki and read it was worth 300 U.S. dollers and I was like shit, that's a lot of money! so I ask my parents if I could start mining. They said it was a really complicated process And it's only if you have a business.
So want to know What a bitcoin is and how can i start mining.
It's not going to be very profitable to start mining now. Sure you could but the current value of bitcoins makes it uncompelling to continue mining new coins, which is extremely hard now.
Bitcoin is a crytocurrency (more or less the first actual one that was launched) and it uses a highly complex network for transfer of coins for trade, so that someone can't hack coins into their wallet. There are a limited number of Bitcoins, and the more they are mined, the less often they will be generated, eventually getting to the point where there will be no more to mine. At this point in the game, it is not even worth it to mine bitcoins. It is impossible to actually make a profit on them, and in fact by the time bitcoin went viral, it was already too late to really make money mining them. I mined them a bit back in early 2012, and made like $60, but lost interest, as I didn't really see crytocurrencies being used by many vendors.
Good to know. Knowing that it's not worth it to mine right now is helpful
it costs hundreds of dollars (electricity) to mine just 1 bitcoin. Unless you have very good components, not some crap 300$ laptop, you're not going to make profit on them. And as stated above by Demon, it's not worth it to mine at this point.
