How to get windows without optical drive?

I want to get windows but I dont want to get an optical drive for my build. How do I do it?

What OS do you currently have? Do you currently have a PC with XP, Vista or a 7 because Microsoft is running an upgrade plan and you could get W8 for cheap.

The link above is just a tool to transfer windows image file to a USB drive for installation.

It is a new system and I have a hard copy of win 7 but I want the software version.
