How to get a better looking boot loader

If you have used GNU/Linux ever you know that grub is not the prittiest thing to see when you turn on your computer, So I am here to tell you about the Burg bootloader.

It works just like grub, as it is based off of it yet it looks alot better.

This tutorial will work for all distros based on Debian (this includes distros based off of Ubuntu, as it is a deriative of Debian).

su

and if you are on Ubuntu you will be using the sudo command before everything you paste.

Next you will add the ppa for it

add-apt-repository ppa:n-muench/burg

And then run

apt-get update

apt-get install burg burg-themes

burg install "(hd0)"

update-burg

burg-emu

to see what it looks like. You can change the theme and resolution if needed with F2 and F3.

To Install the Burg manager you will first need to install buc

Nice I'll do this once I stop being lazy

But I like looking like supernerd

Going to try this out one day. I'll be installing Ubuntu once I get a few more parts for my build. Not too sure I'll be dualbooting but I might just for this that aren't Linux compatable instead of running in virtualbox.

Too bad im not dual-booting, almost makes me want to install a copy of windows just so that I can have this pretty boot loader.

I would probably end up spending hours picking the perfect background, then I would have to make my desktop background match the boot loader's background, all during the time I should be working on a project at work... I should stay away... for now.

Now this is quite nice.

hmmm. i think ill do this today. or at least see if i can.
