I'm planning to use an optical drive from my old pc but I'm not sure if it will work. Will do I need to look at to figure this out? The optical drive is a TSSTcorp CD/DVDRW TS-H652M ATA Device. This is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xVqMQ7
No, you would need a converter from IDE to SATA. May I suggest that you just buy a new optical drive? Of course it's nice to save a few bucks whereever it's possible but they aren't exactly expensive (~$15).
Edit: regarding the "how to find out if it will work" part -> modell number + Google = success (okay, simplified, but there are manuals and spec sheets for this optical drive).
Agreed.
In this situation it would be best to buy a new ODD. They can be had for like $15 USD new. It would perform better as well. Also, IMO you really don't need an ODD anymore.
