When your sign up validation is complete, it presents you with a SSL Cert to add to the browser for login authentication (Under Chrome it gets logged as a Personal Cert)
When you return, instead of asking for login creds it asks for the cert you wish to use. Effectively by passing the need for login creds.
which lock down only one browser to being able to deal with sign in and setting up certs.
However without manually moving the cert around to different browsers, the control panel of the site (for creating and adding SSL certs) is only accessible from the browser which you originally signed up to the site with. (Side note: You will need to manually bacup these authentication certs if you plan on moving/reinstalling browser of operating system)
…Well, that’s inefficient. Plus I was talking about logging to begin the SSL process but it fails on their end with a auth error, so yeah, not going to use their service. I’m just going to wait for letsencrypt since their the much better option.
It’s pretty damn fast and efficient imo. (unless someone else gets the sign in cert) usually it auth errors if it can’t reach the postmaster account of the domain.
If you already have it sorted then there is no problem. I have also got high hopes for let’s encrypt.
