I have the disc copy of windows could I just put the disc looking file onto a flash drive and use that to boot windows on my new pc? Or is there other things I'd need to do with the flash drive?
what exactly are you trying to do? Installing windows from a usb-drive onto an hard drive or installing windows to a usb drive?
Flash to harddrive.
What I do is I rip the contents of the disc, and then use PowerISO to make it bootable from my flash drive. That way I can just throw the disc out when I'm sure I don't need it anymore.
I personally like win to flash, but alot of these tools for achieving this...
