My friend is planning his first build and he's hellbent on getting 32 gb of RAM. I told him that that's ridiculous and he will just waste his money but he will not listen to me. Help me bros to convince him that 32 gb is not needed.
He will be gaming, maing gameplay vids, and using photoshop. I don't think he will do any CG rendering or any of that sort.
16GB is more than 90% of us will ever use. If he can afford 32GB, why the hell not?

Absolute waste of money if thats all he is doing spend more $$$ on the gpu. 16gb is plenty for both gaming and photoshop. 32gb would be only worthwhile if he wants a RAMdisk, heavy vm'ing, extreme editing or the like. Ive dont plenty of benchmarking myself before and after I went from 8gb to 16gb, no difference in gaming but matlab performance was better.
2x8 GB is more than enough.
8 gigs is enough for gaming. Maybe in like 10 years we might need 32gb for gaming.
