How good is the Rosewill Thor V2?

I am thinking of buying one for an upcoming build. How good are they?

I've never built with one but rosewill has never let anyone I know down, just looking over it the case seems to have some really good features, slanted front IO so you dont break your usb sticks under your desk, i love that big sexy 200mm Fan mount on the side, the cable routing and managment options seem well thought out, i'm not sure if the drive cages are removable but they should suit your needs, the sleds seem like they're high quality, the overall aesthetic is very nice. It's kind of small on the inside, i'm pretty sure you can mount a dual rad in there but i can't really see the top, i dont think there is room on the bottom though, there is however a nifty filter for your psu as well as case feet and a psu stand off. The intake at the front should keep your drives cool and push some extra air onto your board if you manage your sleds (not that you'd need to), it'd be nice if you could mount a fan on the inside segment of the drivebay. I wish they'd made the viewing port on the sides bigger and done something smaller with the X shape fan filter thing, like two 120mm mounts on the cosmos.

I don't know the build quality, but it looks like solid steel construction, and i trust rosewill as a brand that delivers bang for buck. I bought the HAF 932 years ago, but had this been out i'd have snagged it instead, and they're at the same price point right now. The only case that comes close at this price point is the Phantom (which is a little cheaper) so would i recommend the THOR? If i had one sitting in front of me i can almost gguarantee it would meet my standards so i'm going to recommend it. If you're unsure considering i haven't touched it, it would be worth going to a retailer and asking to examine one. But for your price point that case has all the features it should have (idk about dual rad capabilty) and seems like a great choice.

EDIT: idk if it has a front mounted fan filter, worth finding out (green reminded me)

I bought a THOR V2 (black) for a recent build. I kind of rushed into the decision to buy it (didn’t research it as much as I should have) but I am very pleased with it. I have read a few reviews about Rosewill cases and their build quality; however I have not noticed any issues with the build quality of the Thor (it feels and looks like it’s built like a tank). I like the style, functionality and simple (subjective) design of the case. The only 2 slight issues I have had with it are:

  1. The back panel of the case was a bit hard to fit back on after routing all my cables (might be due to my cable management incompetence).
  2. It was a VERY tight fit installing a CPU Liquid cooling system, the clearance between the ram sticks and the radiator fans was almost nonexistent (I am using a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme, G Skill Ripjaw X Ram, mounted on a Maximus V Extreme Motherboard).

All in all, despite those two issues I would recommend it!

Where is gigabuster? He was made for this thread...

He's going to miss his chance to fulfill his destiny.

:(

So it does fit a dual rad :D, the HAF 932 has the same back panel problem. Hardware cannucks praise the phantom for it's cable management in the back if you want to take that into consideration, but at the same time the aesthetic is not for everyone.

Yeah it just about does, I didnt like how close the radiator fans were to the ram sticks so I used the cases vent holes and a few washers to mount the radiator to those...probably not the best idea, but I havent had any issues.

no front filter, but I haven't heard of a case that does. it has filters on the bottom, though, which is really where you need it.

I'm pretty sure the 800D has one, and the HAF X i think. But i agree that nothing in this price range does (i think)

Really?  I haven't heard of a case that doesn't have front filters lol.

My Antec 300 has front filters, and my buddy's $40 Rosewill case that I just put together has filters in the front as well.
