How do you install the hyper 212+ on an ASRock 990fx EXTREME4 with an AM3+ CPU

I can't seem to install the backplate but I was wondering if anyone knew how to do it.

Bear in mind you need to remove the stock mounting hardware.

I'm still having problems installing the backplate.

the back plate is only for the intel cpus the amd should have two notches that lock on each side.

No, it needs the backplate. The backplate kind of looks like a spider right? For AMD you want the smaller legs with the holes towards the motherboard and the larger legs with the claws facing away.

Yeah thats what I thought and I found the only possible place for it so I think I fixed my problem
