so i need to update my bios, but my current cpu is not compatible with the current bios so i can't. I have a M5A97 LE R2.0 and an 8350. so i was wondering if there was a type of store or something i could take this to in order to do that without spending too much money, or if there is a possible way to do this on my own.
I also understand that i might be just that i have a bad motherboard, yada yada yada, but iof i do then i am screwed as i may not be able to get my hands on one for awhile.
well i can tell you for sure you have a realy bad motherboard. the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 should support the FX8350 out of the box, if it doesnt showup anything there would be something wrong. or your mobo is doa. anyway FX8350 with that particular motherboard is not the best combination.
the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 comes with bios version 1101 out of the box, that means support for vishera cpu´s thats why its called R2.0. so its probably DOA. or you did not build the system correctly.
if i may give you some good advice. try to send back the board, and look if you can find a Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 this particular board has a 6+2 powerphase and digi vrm, its realy a decent board for cheap. its the only 970 board i personaly recommend for a FX8320/8350
I bought the mobo in august at tiger direct so i am pretty sure i can't return it. i would've been able to test it out earlier but i just bought my ddr3 ram last month.
yeah i know its bad thats what every other person says, but i will be getting a new one with a 990fx chipset hopefully by the end of the year.
i would say just contact tiger direct and tell them that the board does not work at all. youve got a 1 year warrenty so yeah. just say that the system just does not work.
will do, all i need is the receipt and the mobo right? i lost one of the sata cables that came with
well that would probably be allright. but realy becarefull wenn you getten a new board with that FX8350 don´t overclock it. it would be better to buy a Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 mobo for this cpu.
if i do get a new board i will probably get the refurbished sabertooth on newegg for $150
I had no idea what i was doing when i bought that motherboard, now i do
yeah sabertooth is offcourse also a great choice. ☺
