How do I separate a 4+4 pin cpu cable

I need to separate it for my motherboard, here is my psu

You should just be able to pull them apart.

Try pulling one half back and away from the other half, sometimes they are locked into place with some sort of mechanism.

i used  my extension cable which split in two. otherwise i was going to use a coping saw
