How do I manage dynamic IP?

Hello everyone, I’m cought between the hammer and the anvil right now because I can’t decide what solution to use to manage the dynamic IP: I should set up a mailing system to get me notified every time my IP changes (kinda easy to do for me) or go for no-IP (I don’t have a clue on how to set it up, like less than zero)?
If anyone has a better solution to suggest I’m open and I won’t go for paid solutions since I’m not doing anything fancy here. Thanks.

I've used NO-IP for some Minecraft servers in the past and used their free DNS service instead of dealing with a dynamic IP.

It worked amazingly well.

I use dynu.net and it's been great. Free, and accounts don't expire.

I use freedns, it works with free domain names or you can register one and use that. But any dynamic dns service will work for you. Most routers will have a built in dynamic dns client which you can configure to update the server with your current ip, or you can run a client on another machine on your network.

I use linode with a .tech domain and the linodedyndns script

Actually I was looking for something completly free so, a .tech domain and a linode istance is too much for me. Thanks anyway for the answer.

Thanks to all of you guys for the answers!

Can you please explain a little bit more in detail what you're talking about?

Whatever service you use you need something to tell the DNS server what your IP address is. Most routers can do this, it's usually called dynamic DNS or DDNS. But if not you will need a DDNS client on your network to tell the DNS server what your IP address is. Whatever method you use they will have instructions for how to do this.

Oooh okay. I'll just use the software solution provided instead of relying on the router to do that so if I ever change network it's all "self contained" and I won't have to do anything to keep having the same service working.
