Tell me about it my R9 290 is shitty on linux I am getting like 15 FPS on low settings in Dying Light and 20-30 fps on L4D2.
On catalyst or Radeon? Games are playable using catalyst, but there are random FPS drops and I have to set everything to minimum on my 7950. Using radeon, I got the same FPS I might get on my AMD A8 Windows 7 laptop from 2011.
Well for some reason the R9 290 and 290X will get worse performance than the Radeon 5450....
Newer hardware isn't without it's problems on Linux. It took half a year's worth of kernel upgrades on my laptop before the wireless issues were sorted out. Still, I don't see why it's so difficult for AMD to develop good Linux drivers, but the most complex thing I've ever coded was a calculator app in C, so what do I know?
