How can I slightly boost wifi strength?

So I moved into a new house, and unfortunately the fastest internet speed available was 4 download, but I usually get 3 at best. I have a good router (Netgear Nighthawk R7000), but paired with slow internet and being pretty far away from the router, it doesn’t work as well as it did with my old internet that was much faster.

So basically, in my room, which is the farthest place in the house from the router, I get pretty good signal strength on my computer, but the case is different for my iPad. On my ipad, I get 3/3 bars about 50% of the time, and 2/3 bars the rest. Normally this would be fine, but for some reason when I get 2/3 bars, everything loads extremely slow, like if I were to try and load tek syndicate, it would take like 1 whole minute to load the page, and on some other apps when I have 2/3 bars, it goes so slow that that certain app says im not even connected to the internet (which i am).

The router is at the most optimal place I can get it to, there is another ethernet port a lot closer to my room, but the internet company didnt even run a wire to it so it is just a dead port.

Is there any small things I can do to get that little boost so I get that 3/3 bars much more of the time? Would a wifi booster work if I set it up close to my room? Any suggestions would be great, thanks for any and all feedback

Install wifi-analyzer and check the signal strenghts, you'd want it to be less than -60db and the channel to not be too crowded.
For best results if the signal is strong enough get a repeater and place it closer to your room. If not, put another router or switch + access point (depending on the firmwares you might setup a mesh network) in your room, connect the router with a powerline adapter if you can't pull ethernet from the modem.
