How can I make this laptop display into a monitor?

So I have a IBM thinkpad x41t that I bought awhile back, and unfortunately the soldered on ram died.

The thing was such a joy to draw on, I used to use it to draw templets in inkscape for my 3d characters.

Is there any way I can salvage the display and use it as a tablet for my desktop? It has a wacom digitizer so if it can be done it would be a great way for artists to get a very nice display drawing tablet for $40 on ebay, attatch it to a telescopic arm and it looks like it can be nice and ergonomic too. I kinda got inspired by the retina display video recently.

Pictured is a broken display that I later replaced, connections are intact.

Usually thats just impossible due to proprietary connections or parts of the displays innards inside the laptop itself.

That first picture if of the Wifi antenna. So those will not work.

You may be able to do it with a micro controller, if you figured out the pin-out of the connection.

Tedious and not worth it, not even thinking about touch...

some screens will work well with things like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/M-NT68676-2A-HDMI-DVI-VGA-Audio-LCD-Controller-Board-DIY-Kit-Power-Adapter-/121059321784?pt=US_Server_Boards&hash=item1c2fb2a7b8 But it would need the right pin layout message them with the screen you have and they might have something
