How Big Will a HTPC Case Be in Comparison to Xbox One/PlayStation 4?

I'm looking at making a steam machine instead of buying a next gen console. I already have most of parts including the mobo which is a matx.

So because of the matx the smallest cases (that I can find) are HTPC cases but I'm just wondering how big in size they are compared with the new consoles.

Please suggest any alternatives if you have them.

Thanks for any help.

heh, depends what you buy man!  look at the dimensions of everything for comparison.

Silverstone's ML04 is what I have and it's a nice size.  It's wider than the xbox one, but it looks really clean.  The dimensions on that are 440 mm (W) x 105 mm (H) x 350 mm (D).  Keep in mind that this case is slim, so it will only fit slim PCI cards (graphics cards)

Check out some of these if you need something larger http://www.silverstonetek.com/product_case.php?tno=0&case=c_htpc&area=en

The fractal design node 605 is small enough, not exactly xbox one size but close, have a look anyway:
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/node-series/node-605

Node 605 Dimensions: (W x H x D) 445 x 164 x 349 mm

XBone: (W x H x D) 343 x 80 x 263 mm

1 The node 605 isn't really an HTPC case It just works good.

Basically HTPC cases can best be compared with audio components. Ranging from cd player size to high end amp size in height.

it can have the same size footprint on a desk but will most likely be taller by a few inches

the great thing about the internet is all this information is one search engine away.
