How are you cooling your CPU?

I read alot of what people RECOMEND, and thats fine and dandy. What I wana know is what is in your rig right now, and how it performs,

Right now im using an ancient Arctic Frezer 7 i bought 4 years ago. idle on my 955be is around 35-40 and full load of prime95 ticks 63 on a 4.1 ghz oc at 1.45 v

  • NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White Steel
  • Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge with Corsair H60 @ 4.2GHZ
  • MSI P67A-GD65 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67
  • Western Digital Caviar Black WD7502AAEX 750GB 7200 RPM
  • OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-120G 2.5"
  • 2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
  • XFX Double D Black Edition FX-795A-TDBC Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5
  • COOLER MASTER GX Series RS750-ACAAD3-US 750 watt
  • ASUS 24X DVD Burner
My CPU runs on idle around 20 C and with prime 95 i get around 55 C on full load @ 4.2GHZ My CPU cooler is the H60

I am using a Cooler Master Hyper 212+(with a single fan) and my FX-8150,idles around 30c,and hits 54c-55c on prime95 full load and that is at stock speeds.

Well water sprayed at high speeds trough cooler master 120mm heat sink.  lol Nah buy thats heat sink i use with cool max fans keeps my 6100 cold at when oc thinki i t was 30 bucks at micro center

I use a Corsair H60 on my i7 and it seems to run at 55-56 at load a hell of a load better than the stock cooler which was a massive 80+c at load

EK water blocks H3O 240 HFX kit for the cpu. gna grab a gpu block soon to add to the loop. havent done any performance tests on it tho.

955 be 4.2 ghz... coolit eco cooler ( lol i got it cheap ) with  temps at 55 full load prime 95

I'm using a corsair H100 with my 2600K @4.6Ghz right now. I get around 40C idle and 73C at full load during Prime 95. I'm looking at other people's results and I'm starting to think that maybe it would perform better if I took the 200mm fans out of the top of my HAF X since the H100 is already in push/pull anyway. The extra fans might be blocking airflow.

Not that big of a deal though because I'm planning on buying a custom water cooling loop as soon as I get the money together.

I use a ThermalRight Venomous X with two Noctua NF-S12B FLX (900 RPM) fans in push/pull config. Sucking air from the bottom (northbridge), blowing hot air out top. Intel Core i7 920 @ 4GHz. Last time I did a 4 hours Prime95, max temp was 75*C. Now that I've disabled HyperThread it might run cooler under full load. Don't know, havn't tested. Overall the heatsink is nice and fans are silent, everything running @ low-noise operation. Overpriced tho... but very nice indeed.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm on the fence about an h100 or an XSPC 120mm rad kit.  OR geting an EVGA Superclock cooler with a fan that matches my color in my rig. Just cant decide if i want to watercool or not, I'm slowly getting better at overclocking my 955be, And i have my eyes set on a Piledriver 8 core and from what im reading they are gona run hot!

<-- Mungen 2.

Sucks.

Definitely go with the XSPC kit. If I had known the 240mm rad kit was around the same price as the H100 when I bought it, I would have gotten that or maybe even a 360mm kit and a couple of EVGA Hydro Coppers instead of the Lightning Xtreme Edition GTX 580s that I have right now.

hyper plus 212. The bottom sucks ass, hard to clean the grooves properly and some of them are off axis by a few mm. Next one I get will be a solid copper bottom.

I'd go with the H100. Just for being so simple and userfriendly.

thats what im thinking. i have just a lowly 6870 so just the 240 and another 120 i should be fine.

I'm not trolling but; Intel Stock Cooler w/ Core i7 930 @ 4GHz. I have posted a picture or so a couple of threads ago. I'm still making a decision on which cooling options to go, so don't go hype on me.

O.O

How is your cpu even still working properly?

And how do you not know what heatsink to get? There aren't many new ones because it's so difficult to beat the ones that are out there right now.

Not to mention, the rig BSOD everytime the temp goes over 80C for safety...

Second, the reason I said "I'm still making a decision" is because I do not have the $$$ yet. I know what to get but it's a matter of time before a vedor releases a new cooler. So I'm OK.

What are you planning on getting?

Going watercooling. Aircooling won't work given the state of the current case airflow topology. My 2nd rig, the  P67 system, will remain stock-cooled as it's not intended for intensive usage.
