How are those 3TB drives?

I noticed in one of your videos you said you bought several 3 TB drives recently. What kind were they and how well did they work out? Are you going to do a review?

I'm looking to buy several 1/2 TB and at least 1, 3 TB drives right away but I'm leary of all the bad press/shoper reviews recently. I had planned to get WD but they are out of stock at the moment from my supplier so its either Seagate or wait since I wont touch Hitachi.

SATA 3.0 TeraByte Seagate sv 35    and

500gb sata Seagate model #: st500dm002

Are about all they have right now. Anyone know if their any good? I know their have been lots of quality control problems with the new factories since the floods last year. Any chance they are getting better?

If I wait they should have WD blues soon for the 500GB drives.

I think even before the floods there was a reduction in quality control, I mean we basically have either WD or Seagate, there is not enough competition in the consumer HD market.  Lately I am hesitant to buy any HD because I want to load it up but don't want to have to make a RAID 5 drive to make sure nothing goes wrong.

there isn't enough competition in the cpu and gpu industries as well.

intel or amd

nvida or amd

True but I have more broken HDs than GPUs and CPUs

I have a seagate barricuda 3 TB atm. I'd say its pretty good.
