Hotspot streaming solution needed

I have a friend who uses his phone plan as his all in one. Phone, and internet. He DOES NOT HAVE HOME INTERNET.

I recently tricked out his s5(custom recovery and Rom, thank you 15 mmc explotit) with a 8500mah battery and rugged case with another portable battery bank along with other accessories.

He need something he can cast from his apps, and can't be a chromecast unless you know how to run one without wifi.
One solution is maybe is https://store.google.com/product/ethernet_adapter_for_chromecast

ANd just get a USB 3.0 to ethernet for his phone, unless there is a way to basically do it From the phone to usb,(Yes I know about USB tethering but that doesn't work iirc)

My other thought is a miracast dongle? If I understand correctly its wifi direct and doesnt require a Router with home internet.

Thoughts?

Why not go cabled if the ROM supports the MHL port that the S5 has?
