I read about a free VPN called ''Hotspot Shield'' and I'd just like to know if you can trust that VPN service? And what do you get that's better with a VPN that you pay for, like Privateinternetaccess? I just want a free VPN that I can browse safely with on the internet!
Hotspot is reputable.
I use Hotspot's paid service, I didnt try the free version, but as far as I know, with the free version you're just locked into it only changing your identified region to US and you don't get their packet protection. It's like PIA but it is more like the way Hola Unblocker feels, it works, but you have some limitations and not much control of it. It's not bad at all though, just not very customizable kinda a set it and leave it scenario rather than small tweaks you can do.
(The only reason I got Hotspot over PIA is that PIA doesn't have a Japanese mask, and I wanted a VPN for US and JPN masking)
I will try the free version, atleast it's better then not having anything to protect you!
When you do use the free version it gives you a limited trial of the paid service, plus this service is a little cheaper for a year than PIA.
