I have posted on meany subreddits, and I have gotten little to no help, so I turn to the Tek Syndicate community, I have heard great things about this forum.
I bult my system in early 2012, and now I am doing some upgrades. I have installed two 128GB SSDs, one more 1TB HDD, a new GTX 970, and a new 750w 80+ Gold PSU. So far, most of every thing works great! I upgrated from my GTX 660 hoping it would fix my horrible screen tearing problem. It did not, let me elaborate.
About August 1st, I started to notice screen tearing in youtube videos. Now, one graphics card later, the screen tearing has gotten so bad, I refuse to watch the episodes of doctor who I have piling up.
I would try different monitor to see if that is causing the tearing. Maybe the cable is broken somewhere. Also try new drivers. Lastly i would check for RAM or overheating issues.
EDIT: Try: http://openhardwaremonitor.org/ to see temperatures of your components
I use 4 monitors. I have tried every combination of monitors and refresh rates, no luck. All my cables seem to be in tacked at plugged in correctly, and my room temp says around 21.1c, and my system around 28c.
I have used DDU to uninstall my drivers in safe mode, and re-installed them out of safe mode.
What kind of monitors do you have? Does it tear in games as well or just youtube? Also what browser are you using, and have you tried disabling hardware acceleration?
