Thanks, its going to take a little more tweaking. I plan to cover all the rough framing with variations of glowing trim. I need to find some solid roller tracks so i can move the server out like a drawer.
Yeah I know that feeling. Right now I build in the "family" room out of the way of everyone except the kids and I still get in trouble for taking up so much room. lol
More work on the server room. I have the lighting effect dialed in better and working on some new pieces!
I still have a lot of trim and cable management, clean up to do. Not a finished product yet. Just a work log update.
It's great!
Are you going to put doors on the lower storage areas for visual-clutter reduction? I'd suggest some basic roll stuff rather than the weirdly expensive cabinet door industry.
Thanks, Not sure what I will do exactly. I need to have good air flow to some of it for the server and other computers. I will clean it up for sure. Its still evolving lol!
Well, a hinged door -- like a case side panel, in aluminium or similar -- could easily be modded (yay, dremel!) to allow airflow for those systems out of sight, whereas you could use a rolling door for "just storage" areas.
You're going to want to separate those out anyway, as part of ensuring good airflow, right?
Yes the "pc" compartments will need to be separated off. I have some ideas but still not sure on ventilation. Most server rooms have dedicated cooling. Not sure if I want to add a AC unit to the room some how or just vent it off to the other rooms.
An AC unit, while it adds cost to your electric bill and maintenance, would surely also add peace of mind and also comfort while working in the room.
Personally I'd call the latter two more important.
You could use perforated metal sheeting on a wooden frame. I just used some in my build, it was cheap & very easy to work with.
