Home Server High Power Consumption

So my home server running a few vms and plex is using about 100w idle.
Sitting in bios or in Ubuntu server is about the same.
I have aspm enabled with l1
I have overclocking cpu turned off
Ubuntu is set to power saver mode.
Adding the gpu adds about 35w idle, Removing the SSDs only reduced power by about 2w idle.

I see people talking about gigabye motherboards using more power than others. I am not sure what direction to go in to try to reduce the power draw.

Here are my specs
Motherboard: B760M DS3H AX DDR4
CPU: 13500T
Ram: 64gb Corsair Vengeance
GPU: Asrock Challenger ARC a580
Power Supply: EVGA 800 GE about 20w more then using than the DC power supply I was using
12 HP 2tb SSDS
1 WD Blue 4tb SSD
2 4TB WD Blue NVME

how do you have the 12 HP SSDs attached?
with an HBA and that many SSDs 100w idle doesn’t seem unrealistic.

I have an pcie to sata board.

I unpluged the pcie to sata and unplugged the SSD power, It saved about 3w on idle.

hmmm… are the higher C-states enabled in BIOS? typically most systems will idle at a decent amount less power when in OS doing nothing as compared to in BIOS (because of these C states); on my AM5 motherboard this difference is 20-40 watts between in BIOS and in OS.

yeah Iv enabled all the Cstates I could find.

try powertop
