Hi. I want to put wired internet in all of the bedrooms of my home. What is the best way to do this at a low cost? I need wired internet in 4 rooms. Suggestions?
Look for the shortest way to run Ethernet cable to each room, measure how long each cable needs to be, buy them, run them. As far as running them goes, I guess you could either run them outside then in through the window. Or run them along the floor. I would suggest painting the cables whatever color match what they are going to be run over. This is a lot cheaper than getting them run through the wall.
What's the maximum budget you have for the project?
I just upgraded my router to a tp-link Archer C7 AC1750 and I don't want to spend anything over $200 on the cable part of the project
Buy the cable in bulk it is cheap as fuck. If you have a wire puller and a friend it will take no more than an hour or two to run through the walls, if you have access to your attic. Also ethernet wall sockets are just a couple dollars each.
I have never actually done this before, but I will say one of the most useful things for a wired network is a "structured wiring box". It may cost more but it's essentially a patch panel and its very handy to have.
