hey guys, im sure this question is asked a lot but i keep getting this error when i play tf2 or l4d2. it usually only happens when the map or level changes, like right when its about finished loading this error seems to pop up and the game freezes and shuts down. i tried lowering videos settings, although that helped with frame rates it didnt really fix the problem. i was just wondering if any of you guys have the same problem and how to fix it. i have windows 7 32 bit btw.
system specs:
6.00gb ram (3.25 usable)
amd athlon(tm) 64 x@ dual core 2.60 GTz cpu
windows 7 32 bit
sapphire hd 3870 graphics card
yeahh i know i need a upgrade by the way lmao that'l be done this summer dont worry xP
but yeah if any of you have any idea on how to fix this it would be muuuch appreciated x) its buggin me that i cant get much more than a round in of tf2 without it crashin on me :[
thanks! xD
ok well this used to happen to me as well when i had just a general error with my files because your downloading mods + maps + sounds and they all have to work with the game and that.... the way I always fixed this was just save my maps folder and then delete the game folder then just make copy a new game file from the base file that is always there for steam games..
defo not that clear in this if you dont know a few things about the games but i can make a run though if you want to ..
in your library right click the game select "properties" then select "local files" and then there should b an option to verify the integrity of your game cache. Should fix it, but back up any mods you have installed first cuz they can get messed up in the process.

yeah... thats a decent idea Big^ that to start with
alright thanks guys! im gonna try those ideas right now and then launch the game and see if the problem is fixed! yeah that makes total sense though cause maybe i downloaded some sketchy mods or some shit cause i can max this game no problem with 35+ fps so my system can definetly handle it, so its gotta be some of my mods that fucked it up aha
not necessarily a mods fault, source engine is just quick to glitch but typically easy to fix
It's a bit off topic, but why the hell are your running 6GB of ram on a 32-bit OS that can only detect 4GB of ram (even less because of your video memory).
Get a 64-bit OS ASAP.

for real, I really hope you didnt pay for it
always had a lot of promblems with PMA for some reason.. no idea why but source servers with PMA dont go well with me..
alright well i tried wooly4's idea by verify the integrity of your game cache through steam and that actually fixed it for the rest of the night with no problems but now all of a sudden its doin it again :/ so sean when you say to save the the maps folder and delete the game folder; basically which folder is the game folder i gotta delete? like you go to program files, steam, then steamapps, then go to my name folder and is the game folder your talking about the folder that just says team fortress 2?
ps: my cousin gave me the extra ram so i just threw it in for the hell of it aha i didnt actually buy em.
