Hints,Tips and proceedures for O/C Xeon 54xx series

Hi folks getting a Xeon E5450 next week,looking to do a moderate O/C ,(with adaptor to 775) ,any hints tips ,proceedures & experiences for O/C it would be appreciated (will be on intel stock q8200 air cooler to start with at least),board is an ASUS P5N-MX

Im getting an e5420 this Tuesday with the pin mod thing for skt 775 too so ill post my overclocks in this thread too.

OK i managed to do the mod, but had to reinstall windows to get the 4 cores visible prior to that i could only see 2 cores and 0 threads:

Ok folks,got the E5450,got it running on my board (asus p5n-mx) 3gb ddr2 800, running stock, its great.everything goes like a train (bios 0903). but, with everything de locked and unlinked in the bios, I cant get the FSB to overclock, any ideas?

what do you mean you cant get it to overclock?
