So I turn on my computer and notices its quite loud for being idle. So I put my ear near my case and it sounds like it my GPU fans. Then I open up GPU-z and sure enough my GPU (7970) was at ~95% Usage. Then I try and pull up my task manager via Ctrl+Shift+Delete and nothing happens, This is when i start to worry. I go download some external Task manager and I dont find anything "Suspicious" on there. Im currently scanning with malware bytes and MSE.
How about instead of just going through every topic and commenting stuff that adds absolutely nothing to the topic, you either input something useful, or refrain from commenting.
I had a very similar problem about a week ago. Turns out it was a process called 'iehighutil', which was apparently using my GPU to mine bitcoins for somebody. I had to find and delete it myself, as both MSE and MB weren't finding anything.
But anyway, just bring up task manager and check your processes for 'iehighutil' or something similar. Better safe than sorry :>
It could be the thermal paste of your GPU's processor is dried up and that should clean it and reapply some onto it due to such high usage, but it could be something completely different. Or could be outdated drivers, i'm not entirely sure.
Have a look at your task manager and see whats running.
After installing origin a cuple of weeks ago it was randomly starting windows experience index up (WinSAT) and started testing my video card hdd ect (that wasent funn when playing a game)
After unticking "share hardware specifications" and "share system interaction data" in the origin client it hasent started it up again.
Or you may have the bitcoin mining virus IF you do have it there is a thread here that shows you how to remove it with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and ComboFix.
