"High end"

Cool, it's interested to see where we think we will be in the future. I'm working some teams now using Azure for quite a bit of stuff now - data analysis etc. The biggest VM they now have has 32 cores and 448Gb RAM. These are hosted on servers with Xeon E5 v3 procs and can use all SSD based storage - but the cost is eye-watering at around $10 per hour for the compute time.

The PaaS stuff can work out cheaper - but is only useful if you have a workload catered for e.g. Hadoop.

:P Well they have to play it up now and again certainly, but you can't also ignore that past conferences were just that... a conference. They didn't care about being woah doge like very wow like nvidia. It wasn't that they didn't have the cash, they just don't care. I like that about the older apple conferences and keynotes.
