High-end PC build

Hello, I'm looking to build a pretty high end PC & I want to get your thoughts on this. Here is my wishlist so far. I have enough money I think to go for a specific color, green if you can't tell. =P

If you could suggest a black RAM kit better than mine it would be great. I want to get as much ram in this system as possible because I also want to do some Digital art & Video rendering.

I also need the storage for all my music and family pictures. (Yes I keep them all & I have a ton of music and games.. =P)

Thanks.

First of all, that 3770K won't fit that motherboard, X58 uses the LGA1366 socket, the 3770 uses the LGA1155 socket. So look for a motherboard that uses the Z77-chipset and the LGA1155 socket, for RAM maybe Mushkin Blackline? But thas good RAM tou got there on your wishlist.

*Face palm* Thank you for pointing that out. What i7 do you suggest? I really like the motherboard because of all the positive feed back on it. I added the RAM I looked at some reviews and Mushkin looks like a really good company. Thanks.

I switched to the ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 motherboard & I'll keep the CPU.

what is your budget, do you intend on OCing, do you live in the US, and what do you want to use the PC for?

I don't have a real budget. I guess I'd cap out at $6000, so $5000 so I have the extra for the monitors, mouse, keyboard, ect. I would also like to sleeve the cables. I will probaby OC a bit, & I live in the US

FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS???

Yeah. I've been saving for about 5 years. =/ But thats the MAX, I would rather about it not go that high but I would like the best I can get.

OK, now that I have caught my breath with the 5 grand part, I will say, good for you. Saving that much money is not easy these days. The ASUS Z77 board is an excellent choice. This allows you to use the 1155 socket on the i7 you mentioned. However the AZUS ROG series of boards have a large selection of items available you might want. I once again say go to Newegg, look at the reviews, prices, add on ability and decide what will be best for you and your needs. You can build an amazing system with money left in the bank for future needs.I like the RAM of choice.

Yeah, saving that much was a pain, I spent the savings for my PC three times. =/ also, I heard alot of good reviews on the motherboard. I'll probably want to go with that.

I have an idea, why don't I just build this system

I swear to god...if one more person posts that they're going to get an OCZ Agility SSD...

The Agility series flat out sucks balls. Get a Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 instead.

I'm not sure why you're getting a 1200 watt psu...you don't need that much, but if you want to keep it around for your next build then that's always an option.

Instead of the Arctic Silver paste, get Arctic Cooling MX-4. It's the best stuff on the market.

You have one too many ram bundles. Mobo has 4 slots to handle 32 gb, your list says your requesting 6 sticks for 48 gb.

It took you 5 years to save that? Once you pass the sweet spot for price to performance in mid-high end it's It's really not worth it. At all. Technology moves too quickly. I do HD video as well and 16 gigs ram with a 3770k at 4.4ghz is more than enough.

hold on I got a build that is

about $5000

Summary

you get an 8 core i7 with 16 threads, 2 7079s, 4.2GB of storage, sleek case with plenty of air flow, super effecient Power supply, fan controllers, 32GB of 2133 RAM with uber low latencies, and mother board packed with features and quality backed by a 5 year warranty, a bluray burner, and a professional version of windows 7

if it needs to be cheaper or if you want it to be more expensive let me know

I would say yes to everything you advised except that case. It is a good case, I would know because I use it with my HTPC build (soon to be RAID 5 NAS) but with your advised parts that case will get crammed. Hell mine is feeling a bit stuffy with an infinitv card and single slot gpu  I can only imagine it with 2 dual slot gpus, water cooled cpu radiator in push-pull, and fully decked out fan setup.  A full tower might be advisable.

I'll probably go with your secause your excited. =P I'll probably get a 800D
