High end 3D modeling PC

Hello all. I need help building a 3D modeling computer for a friend who is moving away soon. He mainly used Auto CAD design suite to create his models. I want to go for a high end build with a budget of around $800-$1200. I was looking at a few of the Nvidia Quadro cards and some of the AMD firepros. And hdmi output would be very much appreciated but not required. Some of his designs get really complex so I think a good graphics card would be where I should invest most of the money. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

EDIT: changed my mind about a few things

you're not going to get a "high end" cad workstation with your budget. but you can make a solid designing build... you could look at workstation cards, but for the price you pay it's really not all that worth it unless a GTX or R9 card crashes your CAD programs during rendering...

That's a decent CAD system with high quality components... it'll run the hell out of AutoCAD... all it's missing is the workstation GPU, but the 750ti will perform fine...
