Hideous 290X Crossfire Performance HELP

i agree that the 295X2 and third 290X could maybe not work well together.

Since the 295X2 is allready a dual gpu on one pcb. The 290X could maybe interfere here.

Cool. Glad that made sense. This is what I was figuring was happening.

Thats the reason I got the gpu set up, because I plan to move to triple 1440p gaming eventually in a 3+1 config. I realise that triple 290X is overkill for 1440p but this set up isnt permanent.

Rather interesting about the 1080 scaling though. Still, scaling isnt really the problem, especially considering I'm more of a 60hz sight seer rather than a 144hz fps gamer. The staggering i'm experiencing is unplayable.

Thanks

No . just the one. I plan to move to triple 1440p gaming eventually but for now its just the one

The more I think about it, the more I think this may be the case. I'll be doing a swap tomorrow to change the 290X for a 4gb modal, courtesy of a good friend. I will post results asap.

In the meantime, I must say I am extremely impressed with the helpful feedback this community offers.

:D

Thank you everyone!

Fixed:

Ok , So turns out it may have been some deep rooted unsolvable driver issue, as a complete wipe of my drive and re-install of the OS solved the issue. Bizarre considering i did my best to remove all traces of drivers before re-installing. I swear my PC is alive. Anyone ever seen/read i,Robot? In that, Dr. Laning says that "there have always been ghosts in the machine" as a description for the sometimes bizarre behaviors of computers.

Thanks to all who responded! Logan is right: This community is awesome!

You just formatted the singularity :----(

Lol. Then I have single-handedly saved us all. I should be given a knighthood for that!

Doubtless, I'm sure she'll give me some more quirks as this isnt the first time something like this has happened. Maybe I should change my computers name from Vixie to Sonny.

haha, I'll ask her this Sunday when I'll be at the palace for tea time ;)
