HHSDs, are the SSD portions used from multiple drives?

Ok so this make be a bit difficult to explain, but I'll try.
With the Seagate hybrid drives, they come with 8GB of NAND Flash. This faster NAND flash is supposedly used by the harddrive by storing things that are accessed more often so they load much faster.

I use 2 of these hybrid drives in the 2TB flavor. Currently I dont use my 2nd nearly as much as my first drive.

What I want to know is, even though I dont use my 2nd drive very much, does the 8GB of flash on it still get used for other things not being stored on the 2nd drive?

Or is the 8GB of NAND only used for things already stored on the drives?

Since the drives are not directly interconnected, the NAND flash of each drive should only function as cache for that drive.

No. They are entirely self contained things, they don't even store files in the flash memory but frequently accessed blocks. The OS isn't in any way aware of the flash memory so there would be no way for one drive to cache another.
