Hello, i am new to the wonderful world of PC.... i have just sold my console and am looking forward to building my own PC, but as me being new i do not know what is good or not... for my cpu i would like to stick with a AMD as i seem to draw towards them due to the bang for buck type aspect. And ive pin pointed what i like a bit more, i really like the sounds of AMD's FX series although im stumped.... is there a advantage to getting the FX-8150 8 core, or just getting a AMD FX 6300 6 core. If it helps for desicion making i will just be using this machine for gaming not much else.
Thanks a bunch.
Hello! Welcome to the PC World <3
For the love of God and everything that is holy, PLEASE don't purchase the 8150; bulldozer was such a drastic failure. The architecture of Vishera (the newest FX CPUs) is definately an improvement over the prior generation. I'd reccoment a 6300 over an 8150 anyday.
If you can shell out the little bit of extra cash, try and get the 8350. However, the 6300 is more than fine :)
Do some research into the Bulldozer (8150)'s failure. It's Vishera you want :P
Oh thank you very much. HAHA i really appreciate the help, yikes im scared what woul have happened if i hadnt asked =p thanks again........
also would you have a good motherboard you would recomend for the 6300 ?
There are A LOT of good choises with the AM3+ socket. Here is the one I am using (i have a Phenom II x6 1605T at 5GHz atm, though. Lol)

Try and get one with the 990FX chipset rather than the 970. Not a big problem, though.
6300 over 8150 any day!!! if you can, Get the 8350! If good option of the other side of the grass from intel would be i5-3570k.
SPEAKING OF the 3570K, one of my friends recently bought one and painted it pink before putting his heatsink on it.... I cried
o(╥﹏╥)o
my sweet precius jimmies, are rustled!
